UN System’s ‘Harmony’

 

 

UNIC New Delhi has just released a music CD Harmony of the new raga Shanti Prerna (inspiration for peace). The CD is an outcome of the special concert organized in October 2005 by the UN system in India, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, to mark the 60th anniversary of the United Nations.

 

At that event, against the magical backdrop of the Purana Qila, renowned maestros Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma unveiled the new raga as their unique contribution to the milestone anniversary of the UN.

 

The CD, created in collaboration with MUSIC TODAY, is available at music stores all over India.   Proceeds from its sale will fund UN development projects in India.
