In Mumbai, the UN
Secretary-General met with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj
Chavan on 28 April 2012.
They exchanged
views on Maharashtra’s progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
and, in particular, health-related issues and programmes. They also discussed
increased cooperation and partnerships with the private sector for
development.
The
Secretary-General congratulated the Chief Minister on remarkable achievements
and discussed possible future cooperation, including on how the state's
capacities and experiences could be shared with other countries.
